This is a bit overdue, but earlier this year, Puneet and I officially got engaged. To some people this might come as shock, while others will think of it as a long time coming. Either way, we had a small get together with our family and close friends on January 15th. I had actually gotten some questions from people asking why I had not posted about it yet. Well, Puneet has been working on a little website for the wedding, which will be done very soon (hopefully this week). She also claims she will start blogging (I think she’s a little jealous of my blog) but we’ll see if that actually happens (no pressure Puneet).

Now, the majority of my blogs have to do with Bhangra Empire, so you guys might be thinking, what does this have to do with Bhangra Empire? For those that don’t know, Puneet is one of the original founders of Bhangra Empire. Her dedication, perseverance, and never-give-up attitude, saved the team from extinction many times. There were many times where past team members, including myself, wanted to move on and give up on Bhangra Empire. But Puneet didn’t let that happen. Without a doubt, there would be no Bhangra Empire without her, and we definitely would not have gotten to where we are today without her. She’s also an okay dancer which doesn’t hurt. =)

The engagement included an informal dance put on by past and present members of Bhangra Empire. I like to call the dance ‘Bhangra Empire Through the Years’ (hence the title of the post) because it includes over 20 songs that Bhangra Empire has used between the years of 2006 and 2011. Anyways, I finally got around to uploading the video on YouTube. The beginning was actually pretty funny, with Danish doing his best imitation of me, but unfortunately, the sound from his little rant didn’t get picked up too well in the video. I guess it was one of those ‘you had to be there’ things. Special thanks to Poonam for organizing the dance and taking care of practices and, of course, special thanks to all of the dancers. It was great seeing a few of the past members dancing again, and the current dancers putting their own twists to our past routines. Without further ado, here is the video to the dance:
