As I mentioned in an earlier post (Our Engagement Dance), Puneet and I have been working on a website for our wedding, which is coming up in a few months. Last week, we finally made the finishing touches and made it public. The website is called ‘OMG Wedding.’ As opposed to what most people think, OMG does not stand for ‘oh my god’. Instead it is an acronym for both our names. The confusing part is that Puneet has two first names, Michelle and Puneet. So for the sake of the acronym, we used Omer Mirza and Michelle Gill, which technically is OMMG, but then shared the M to make it OMG. Hope you followed all of that, and if you didn’t, you can continue to think the OMG refers to ‘oh my god.’
Anyways, the website covers how we met, our story, some details on the proposal, and some information on the wedding. It includes picture galleries from the proposal, our engagement, as well as our save the date photos. Puneet also started a new blog (copying me of course) which has a couple of posts. As opposed to my blog, which is mostly bhangra based, Puneet’s blog will talk more about wedding preparations, the ups, the downs, and whatever else she wants to write about (like The Beach). You’ll notice right away that Puneet is a much better writer than I am (and half the reason why I’ve made it through business school thus far.)
We tried to have a little fun with the save the date pictures. Some pictures turned out as we envisioned, and others didn’t exactly go as planned. The themes included: bhangra, Words with Friends, Draw Something, Starbucks, balloons, sunglasses, cakes, iPhones, iPads, and calendars. Overall, I think they turned out good and special thanks to Jigish Patel for taking the pictures. For you bhangra fans, our main save the date picture is a vest drop with the date of the wedding and 3 signs that say ‘Save the Date.’ Special thanks to everybody that came out, including Sophia, who made some progress in conquering her fear of heights.
So if you haven’t done so already, check out the website, subscribe to Puneet’s blog if you are interested, and keep a look out, as we will be updating the website frequently. And when I say “we,” I actually mean Puneet, because she’s going to do everything. Without further delay, below is the link to the website:
