It was also our first 1st place victory. And yes, this back in the days when I used to perform, so that tall awkward looking person is me.
2011 is officially over and has been quite an eventful year for myself and Bhangra Empire. Yesterday was the Annual Empire Christmas Party which included the White Elephant gift exchange. Here’s a picture of everybody after they received their gifts. Puneet walked out with the best gift (the Empire cushion) made by Tanjeev.

Throwback picture from back in 2007 of Bhangra Empire at Dhol Di Awaz 2007. This was the first time the guys wore the orange/gold outfits which lasted for 2 years. The pink and gold girls outfits were also worn for the fist time here. It was also the last time they wore them (our girls were picky).
Recently, a new podcast called the Bhangra Pulse has been launched to discuss issues within the North American bhangra community. The Bhangra Pulse is hosted by 2 veterans to the bhangra circuit: Sulman Mirza and Dheerja Kaur.
